Today, my friend was pulled over and told to get out of the car. The officer motioned for me to get out of the car too so I reached behind me to get my shoes. He then pointed his gun at my face and frantically asked my friend if I had a gun. My friend calmly replied "No, but shoot him anyway." FML

Lets all rationalize the cop's insecurities and defend him for being a jumpy ********. Right.

If this happened in the US, I'm surprised the cop didn't shoot you.

Thats what you get for being a tard and grabbing for your shoes. OF COURSE THE COP IS GONNA BE SUSPICIOUS. Your friend was prob joking

1) my mates and i do that shit to each other all the time so stop whining 2) you deserved the gun pulled on you 3) in most places i only think its illegal not to wear shoes while driving 4) im glad im not a yank with gun happy cops hahahahaha owned

the friend sounds funny. when you get pulled over, roll your front windows down, turn the car off, put the keys on the dash and your hands on the steering wheel until you are instructed further by the police in my neck of the woods. it's pretty standard procedure and they aren't shy about reminding people. the cop was probably stupid for other reasons, but this cop probably would have gotten away with blowing your f'ing head off..

Here they want the keys left in the ignition. Removes the chance of them falling and the driver going digging under the seat for them. Don't bother digging out your ID or paperwork until he gets to the door, they don't mind waiting a moment.

#95, a quick Google search shows dozens of cops killed over the past few years while performing routine traffic stops. Hell, cops doing routine traffic stops managed to come across the likes of Tim McVeigh. It's not a mark of insecurity to assume that the person you're dealing with may well try to kill you--it's a sign of prudence.

#102: You tell him ^^ Although I do believe you mean 94, not 95. The cop had a right to be so defensive. You should have told him, calmly, that you were reaching for your shoes. I'm sure your friend was just kidding.
