Today, my girlfriend "got even" with me after an argument by telling people that I've been beating her. Three guys later came over to my place and beat the crap out of me. Her reaction: "I didn't think they'd take it so serious!" FML

OP here. The argument was over where we'd spend Christmas (her family or mine) and I was adamant we'd spend it at mine after spending the previous at hers. No bones were broken (am missing a tooth, however) although I'm a maze of bruises and swelling. We're no longer together now. Thanks for all the supporting messages!

Something similar to this happened to someone in my area, except that the girlfriend's brother went to the boyfriend's house to confront him about him beating his girlfriend and the brother stabbed him. The girlfriend made the domestic abuse story up because she was upset with her boyfriend. Be lucky that the men that approached you didn't kill you.

I'm with everyone else who is encouraging legal action. Personally, I think anyone who does things like his deserve to be beaten in return, but I'm generally "eye for an eye" about everything. She and those idiots need brutal legal punishment that pays you nice amounts of money and puts them behind bars. Or you can publish their info on 4chan and let them have at it.

This might sound terrible but you should seriously think about breaking up with her, I don't think I could stay with someone who lied to people telling them that I was abusive and then accidentally had me beat up.
