I can't imagine the type of woman it would take to tell people with a straight face that her boyfriend had been beating her, and then accept the sympathy and offers of help without recanting her statement. I hope she cleared it up with everyone she told, so that they know she is a lying, evil witch and I hope OP leaves her and is okay. I know the guys that beat you up were acting under false pretenses, but they shouldn't do something like that without proof, so you wouldn't be out of bounds to file assault charges against them, if you were so inclined.

I kinda wish you had recorded her saying that she was lying about it. Not that she has proof of abuse anyway, but it would definitely prevent her from slandering you more after you break up with her. For your safety, break up with her. If this is how she's going to react to an argument, there is no telling what else she might say or do. File a police report as well and make sure they take pictures of the injuries! Once again, if they're willing to beat a person up for hearsay; I hate to think what else they might do. Don't burn your bridges, blow them up!

I had an ex lie about me in that same exact way and it almost caused a whole group of guys to jump me. Run away... and never look back man. It won't get any better.
