Hamsters eat their babies all the time. It probably wouldn't have made a difference whether the OP touched the baby or not.
YDi for not researching anything BEFORE you let you hamster get pregnant. If you didn't know you had a male and a female hamster (because it's hard to tell their sex when they are young), you should have separated them until you were able to tell. Not knowing their sex is NOT an excuse. Separate them until you know to prevent this kind of thing.
When my hamster had babies I picked them up right away and all of them lived. I don't think that's true that they eat their babies because that never happened to me and I've had several of them
uhmmm yeah they will eat their babies.
gutter mate. p.s. this is the first FML I've ever seen without a comma after the word Today at the start. okay so that's irrelevant but whatever....
I loled at you.

Today I was born, and this strange creature towered over my mother and my siblings, and touched one of my siblings. Later my mother decided to eat the sibling that the creature touched. Now I am terrified of being petted. FML
I'm sorry to hear that. I honestly didn't know that fact either. I don't blame you because you didn't know and therefore didn't purposely do it.
