Today, my husband and I spent 10 of our last $20 on pizza. Upon arriving home, I stepped out of the car and slipped on some mud, losing my balance and dropping the open box right into the mud. FML

Okay, okay. Let me clear up a couple things. lol. First, me and my husband were sneaking toppings, and I couldn't get the box shut again. I didn't think it would be a big deal, I had enough confidence in myself to make it from the car to the house without a mishap (foolishly.) Second, that was the last of just our spending money for the next couple days. I didn't go broke on pizza :) and lastly, the pizza did get replaced. we returned with the sad mess that was supposed to be dinner, we all wept a little, said a prayer for the pizzas that don't make it home, and they gave me a fresh new one :)

Depending on how long you have to wait to get more money I wouldn't be spending half the money on one meal. Make the dollars stretch as best as you can and good luck to you all op.

Why did you open it? That's asking for trouble.

YDI for spending your last bucks on temporary satisfaction

For all you know, payday could be tomorrow for OP. If I know for a fact that I'm gonna be paid really soon, I'll happily spend my last money on whatever the hell it is I feel like spending it on. (Of course, if they have to wait for the month to end before they'll get any new money, pizza is an unwise decision.)

It could have been a Wednesday with payday on Friday, all their bills could be paid, they're could be food in the house and gas in the car and they wanted to treat themselves to a pizza. I've been down to my last $20 and spent it on whatever I wanted. As long as their responsibilities are met, it's really their business on what they spend their reminder on.

Even if you're getting paid tomorrow, spending your last cash is foolish when unnecessary

LTC => Learn to cook. It's cheaper and tastes better.

You have to buy ingredients to cook. Food it expensive nowadays. My family used to by pizza when we had no money but that's because it could last a few days. We had no choice.

Flour, yeast and water = the dough. A bit of tomato mix, a cheap cheese and you have your pizza. I know what it's like being broke and this most definitely is the cheapest way to eat pizza. The more expensive stuff you buy as extras, the tastier it gets (good olives, some salami, etc.).

It's really not cheaper and it might not taste better if they're not good at it. And you're super judge-mental - not everyone likes to cool.

YES! Baked beans and a fried egg on toast. Its literally $1.50, good for you, and tasty!

Where do you live that eggs are cheap? Where I live eggs are $4 a dozen :/

Right now because of an avian flu outbreak, not normally.

Was the pizza from Dominoes? If it was, you could have dropped it on a turd and it wouldn't have tasted much different. It might have actually improved it! Sorry for your predicament though!

Put a sign up says "need money, starving" and people will literally buy you food, for FREE! :)
