Today, my husband and I spent 10 of our last $20 on pizza. Upon arriving home, I stepped out of the car and slipped on some mud, losing my balance and dropping the open box right into the mud. FML

Okay, okay. Let me clear up a couple things. lol. First, me and my husband were sneaking toppings, and I couldn't get the box shut again. I didn't think it would be a big deal, I had enough confidence in myself to make it from the car to the house without a mishap (foolishly.) Second, that was the last of just our spending money for the next couple days. I didn't go broke on pizza :) and lastly, the pizza did get replaced. we returned with the sad mess that was supposed to be dinner, we all wept a little, said a prayer for the pizzas that don't make it home, and they gave me a fresh new one :)

Depending on how long you have to wait to get more money I wouldn't be spending half the money on one meal. Make the dollars stretch as best as you can and good luck to you all op.

I'm wondering why, if you only had $20, you spent any of it. If you had to eat, you should have gone to a fast food joint. It's not as good, but it's cheaper.

It's actually not, really.... Say you get a large pizza for $10. Cut it into eight slices and that could feed 2 people for 4 days. Say you're eating from the dollar menu, you'll probably spend about $2/person/day, which after 4 days is $16.

God made dirt, dirt don't hurt, put it your mouth and make it work!

Dirt can hurt, if it has bad bacteria in it

That sucks, but if you only have $20 left I'd try to stretch it as much as possible by buying cheap groceries for instance instead of wasting half of it on pizza..

I know the feeling, wish I could help you guys

So, you've got only $20, but you HAVE A CAR? Maybe you should sort out your priorities.

I need a car to live. Not everyone lives in a place with public transportation.

What #55 said. Even some decent-sized cities have really crappy public transportation. I personally wouldn't be able to get to school or work on time if I had to use public transportation, and I don't live in a small town. Owning a car isn't necessarily a luxury, it can be a necessity.

You know, it happens. It's important not to dwell on it especially if you're having a hard time. Just keep going forward and be thankful you have $10 left. I don't know your situation but I hope that you have more than that soon.

How are you posting this? If by phone, you could sell it...

Why spend it on pizza? You can get a 5lb bag of rice for $2.
