You can get it from drinking after someone with the virus too

@196 maybe you should educate yourself and relize you can get herpes from more than just unprotected sex.

you know, you can pass oral herpes, like your regular cold sores, to the genital area by performing oral sex when you have an outbreak - one of you could have easily had a cold sore, gone down on the other and voila! genital herpes! the only difference is where on the body you get the sores - it's the same viral infection

Uh, I think the point the OP was trying to make was that the suspicion of the doctor (and probably herself) is that her husband cheated. I highly doubt she'd post it on here if she was the cheating party... as for all the posters who've said you can get it from toilet seats, etc etc... sheesh.
