Mmm, on the plus side now you can play together (or vs.) without splitting the screen ? xD plus , I'm pretty sure I could stall the buying process by telling him stuff like * I found it 20% cheaper elsewhere!*
Sell it on Craig's list, most places are all sold out! You might even be able to sell it for 50$ more than what you paid for it because they're so hard to find. Trust me I've seen some going for 600$
It should be an understood rule that you don't buy yourself significant purchases for three months leading up to xmas. You add it to an amazon wish list and buy it later if no one got it for you.
You bought the xbone you deserve to lose money you ignorant bafoon
If you can both spend 500 at pretty much the same time, your life doesn't suck. Return/sell it and get him something else.
Return it, buy some games and some online gaming certificates. As some others alluded to, those games are pricy and you could get him several that will keep him gaming till next Christmas!
Tell him the xbox one isn't as important as your girl
This type of thing would be why my family has a no rule about not buying yourself unnecessary items from Thanksgiving to Christmas. It's annoying, but it definitely works.
That's a good rule!

I'd end up admitting it and ruining the surprise before he bought it.
Maybe this time you should have just told him?
