My Aunt has ALWAYS done something nice for us after a deployment, she is our only family nearby and frequents our home during his absence to make sure I'm still alive when I disappear for days, she used to freak out but now knows she will always find me passed out next to his motorcycle:p(she knows where my spare key is and uses it so much it might as well be hers.) Normally she is waiting outside for us after corresponding with me, but this time she decided to be secretive to try and scare the pants off us (beat her to it) by hiding in the coat closet directly behind the front door and jumping out right as we came in. We did so loudly, crashing into both doors. Said closet has a push button lock on the outer knob, in perfect position.....then of course we got loud and into ourselves, not noticing her calls or knocks. She knows of course how we are after he returns, but her plan just backfired a bit:)

My question is, why didn't she just come out as soon as things started to heat up? I'm sure she had plenty of time to see where it was going before they started full blown sex. Or better yet, why didn't she just surprise them as soon as they entered the house/room?
Didn't sound like there was much of a "heat up" cycle... more like a *door slam* followed by clothes flying, and insertion. If I had to go 18 months without, and knew my man was coming home that day, I'd have been on a "high simmer" all damn day. There'd be no need for "heating up". CSB time; the longest he and I have been apart is 3 weeks. When he came home, I pretty much attacked him and had my way with him. We didn't even make it out of the foyer for the first hour.
at which point does she jump out though? if they fall into the room groping each other, it's gonna be a bit awkward to jump out with a cake

That raises the question, where was she hiding? Did OP ravish her husband in the living room? Maybe auntie thought they would move to the bedroom and she could spare everyone the embarrassment. If she was hiding in the bedroom closet, then one has to wonder why there... .
The least she could have done was inform OP of her surprise! It wouldn't have mattered if OP knew, how did she get a key for the house anyway? The Aunt totally deserved it!

But...how were you not aware of her presence in your house?
Probably picking him up at the airport... This'll teach the meddling aunt to sneak into someone's home unannounced though.
