Like everyone else says, you hired him to do a service, he perfpormed it, and now he expects you to pay for it. Stop being a whiny bitch and call him so you can work out a payment plan. Besides, you could have got a court appointed lawyer to help you if you didn't have funds..

Lawyers very rarely sue clients. It makes them look foolish to judges, other lawyers, and potential clients. A competent lawyer shouldn't have the need to sue anyone. That is why they love retainers so much.
