Yeah, get out more. Into the parks. At night. With a video camera.
My parents never told me he if Santa was real or not. They just bought presents and let me assume they were from him.
In 2009 SA forum launched a competition to create a paranormal phenomenon. Slendy was one of the entries. A back story developed, fabricated evidence, and so began Slenderman as one of the greats of internet memes. People became obsessed, a fake documentary was made, and seeing as SA forums, (SomethingAwful Forums) isn't exactly the biggest forum on the web, not many people heard of it's origin. A lot of people still believe Slendy to be real. But a little research quickly proves he's fiction. Of course, the creator was something of a genius. Slenderman is pretty awesome!
And then we find out OPs "little" sister is 15.
That sounds awesomely terrifying!
45- I believe the German mythology you refer to was also fabricated. It came in the form of a woodcutting, by an artist who was most famed for realistic cuttings, and the appearance of a beast, similar to slender's description, was unusual for the artist. There's an article about 100 pages in on the google search for SlenderMan where a historian proves the cutting is fake.
I've never even heard of "slender man".
Should have used another example... This is sort of a YDI, but I guess we all say stuff without thinking sometimes.

You monster!
Oh great. First she gets the shit scared out of her, and then you ruin her childhood. Why don't you just tell her there's no Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy and get it over with.
