You're teacher is jealous. Your dad, the roofer, probably makes more money than she does. You can make a lot of money in construction. But it can get very labor-intensify and pretty dirty, so it's not for everyone.
#34, go suck a tail pipe! I am a National Deans List student (top 2.5% in the U.S.A.) for college, and in the National Honors Society for college... Guess what, I swing a hammer, weed-wacker, roofing hammer/shovel, tile saw, electrical hammer, paint brush, miter saw, and anything/everything else you can think of. I do it because I love it, and I would rather stand back at the end of the day and SEE what I have accomplished with my hands, than look at a neat pile of paper and see nothing. I started as a casual laborer and have spent years learning the trades, I am in the maintenance business, and now I am a V.P. in a small co. in Fl. Work is bad in this economy, but I tried to do different work, and I hated it. Don't say anything to your teacher, she wouldn't understand and it would be futile. Learn what she has to teach, and then forget her. I can bet money (science backs me up on this) that your dad is healthier than she is, less colds/flu/sniffles. Want to be sick all the time, coop yourself up in an office! Want to be healthy, get out in the sun/sweat/exercise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's what's wrong with our culture. We demonize decent people because they have jobs that actually produce, not desk jobs. Who knows, her dad could have been a decent student. Wow, I already hate that teacher.
Teachers should never say things like that. All it does is insult people. Also, if your dad wasn't on the roof, who would be? If there weren't people working at McDonald's, who's going to flip your burger? Besides, teaching math isn't the most glamorous job either. FYL.
I would have said bitch that's my dad so how about you just stfu

i think it would be better to pay attention, or else you might end up as... her!
Your Dad probably earns more than that hack.
