Today, my mom called 5 times and I didn't pick up due to being in class at college. I was later called to the front desk, where my mom was crying. She said she was worried about me because I didn't say "I love you" to her after she dropped me off at college. FML

Today, my parents left for work before I had to leave for school and I decided to skip. I stayed by the phone, expecting the school to call so I could pose as my parent and excuse my absence. The phone rings and I pick up. It's my Mom, calling to leave my dad a message on the machine. FML

Today, I received a message from front desk that my concerned father is trying to contact me. I call only to hear that my parents were freaking out that I wasn't answering my phone. They saw me 9 hours ago. They were going to call the police. I'm in college and also don't live with them anymore. FML

Today, I listened to a voicemail from my mom about how she misses me and can't wait to see me when I get back from vacation. Thinking she hung up, my mother then had a conversation with my aunt about how quiet the house is without me and how she'd be blessed if I didn't come home. FML

Today, my mom got angry that I wasn't responding to her texts. I couldn't because I was in the dentist's chair. She'd dropped me off, and after returning from errands, sent the text from the waiting room. FML

Oh wow. You would think she would know you can't answer your phone during class. That and she seems rather clingy. Perhaps maybe start finding your own way to college if she's going to continue to do this.

Awww though embarrassing you gotta say that is rather sweet. Should be happy that your mother would worry, despite the stipulation and common sense of the matter. Cant say that about alot of parents these days

There is natural instinct in almost every mother for care of their childrens,only the display of affection varies. Also for few parents it is hard to realise that there childrens have grownup and can take care of him/herself,the reason beyond this are many (not easy to explain in few words).You may felt embarressed today OP but i am sure when it comes of age u will understand. Also to prevent such situations talk to her,make her believe that u can take care of urself and she can trust you.
