To the people trying to defend the mother, yes, she may be getting empty nest syndrome or struggling with other difficult emotional stuff, but that does not make her behavior acceptable. If this was a boyfriend/husband trying to guilt his girlfriend/wife into telling him when she leaves for a routine thing by public shaming rather than a mother doing it to her son, everybody would be in total support of the woman trying to convince her to get out of an abusive situation.
Um, most seem to be defending OP. only about 5-6 are saying it's cute.
Double standards for you
I'm sorry, but this comment doesn't fit this FML. This FML doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the OP's parent is a woman. It has to do with the fact that it is the OP's mother. That is why a few people think it's cute (which it's not). If it was being done by a girlfriend people would think she was crazy and would be telling the OP to get out of the relationship. Not everything is gender VS gender.
lol, m definitely sure u did something to piss her off and she was trying to take revenge.. u r screwed either way
Maybe a "man" shouldn't be getting dropped off by his Mommy at a COLLEGE...
I just saw this on insta.....
To #41: Yes, because everyone is magically financially stable and 100% can be independent the second they turn 18. But to respond to the FML, it's not "sweet" or "cute" like some people are saying, its disruptive to the OPs life. Just because it was done in "good conscience", doesn't mean it was a positive thing.
I started working when I was 15, had a car by 16, and on my own, and in 4 year college by 18. It's called having a work ethic, not being babied, maybe that's why his Mommy was crying ...
Not everyone with "a good work ethic" can afford to have their own car, live alone and pay for college. Small towns with fewer jobs or big cities with higher rent could affect one's ability to have those things.
Try doing that now, 53. Donate everything you've worked for and start again now. You won't be so cocky then, old man. It's difficult, and not from lack of trying. Different times.
I guess 32 is considered old? Stop making excuses for people
Thats cute...
Awe how cute
Honestly, that is a show of motherly love. She obviously cares a lot about you. Lucky you.
Awww that's so sweet... She just wanted to make sure you didn't think she forgot about you.

Oh wow. You would think she would know you can't answer your phone during class. That and she seems rather clingy. Perhaps maybe start finding your own way to college if she's going to continue to do this.
The ****?!??
