Today, my mom's will was read to the rest of the family. I helped my mom write it a couple years ago, and I was to get funds to pay off school loans. She revised it and put in a note saying I was to get nothing because I was "lazy." The executor read it out loud. FML

your mom's a b*tch. piss on her grave. she didn't even have the decency to be open with you about her feelings, which could have led to a mutual understanding of each other's beliefs and values. no, instead she acted behind your back, and let your entire family know without any regard for you. that's immature, spiteful, malicious and the indications of a bad person. personally, i respect that other people's opinions on gay rights differ, and people have a right to their opinions, but the way she dealt with the difference in opinion is messed. what an awful mother.

Wow. I can't imagine a mother who would cut her kid out of her will because of his/her sexual orientation. that's horrible. i'm so sorry.

to everyone who is saying shit about your mother: stop. no, this wasn't the right thing for her to do. but she was still his mother and you don't know what kind of a relationship they had while she was still alive. (I'm assuming they were close if he felt comfortable enough to tell only her that he was gay.) Do you really think saying "**** that **** burning in hell would be less than she deserves" is going to make him feel better about the situation? No. Especially after she just passed away. If my mom died and even if we didn't have a good relationship, I would be extremely hurt by anyone who said anything mean about her. OP I'm sorry everyone is being such a douche to you about your mom. =( and don't feel too bad about not getting any share of her will, a lot of times gay people do better than straight people financially anyways

Wow, people are really freaking out about this. In my opinion I doubt this is a true story. Who in their right minds would write about this on FML? If it is true, I am deeply sorry that your mother felt that you deserved this. Good luck in paying off your loans.
