Today, my mom told me that if I wanted to commit suicide, I should make it seem like a car accident, and not do it in the house, because she would be too embarrassed if people thought she was a bad parent. FML

Not to play the devil's advicate, but in case OP was emotionally blackmailing his mom into doing smg/buying something ( or i'll kill myself kinda thing) ... Her response could be explained as sarcasm.... In all cases suicide ain't no joking subject and never ever should a response be directed at a person (especially with authority/love relationship). I would think that either way you would do it, people would think she was a bad parent. But that's a weird thing for any parent to say to their kid :(
