Today, my mom turned off all internet access in our house because she thought I spent too much time on the computer. She later asked me why she couldn't get on Facebook. FML

OP Here, and I spend up to 3 hours a day on the computer because I take a computer class and all the homework is online and that's why she turned it off. She called our provider and told them to turn it off, since she didn't know how. I didn't find out until I came home and attempted to do my homework, and by that point, my mom was in a fuss about not being able to get on Facebook. And since I'm her daughter, and clearly know nothing, she refused to believe me. My neighbor is the one who finally convinced her the internet was needed for Facebook.

It actually makes me sad when parents do things like that. Once, when I was ten, I walked in on my dad painstakingly trying to type in a web address, letter by letter, for a website he needed to view for work. He was typing it under the My Computer bar, not on IE. I almost cried, and had to show him how to use the internet. Now, he does fine, though he's still slow, but I've caught him spending hours on his websites, and his typing isn't quite as bad now, either. I'm glad he can enjoy his webpages, I just wish I could teach him more, but it's hard for him since he never even had a computer in the house until he was 37. I don't know, just don't get angry at your mom, OP, and try to work with her on it.

You should tell her that The Internet can only be closed on and off once in each house and if she does this again, the Internet in the whole neighborhood, if not the whole state, will just break and your house will radiate red laser beam and everyone will know she broke the internet and nobody can access Facebook. Absolute chaos.
