Today, my mother-in-law grounded me because I went to the store in the "dangerous" rain. My husband says that if I don't obey then we won't work out. FML

SO um why is you mother in law able to GROUND you? i'm not sure you realize there are like 4 FMLs in this statement.

Leave now. Seriously. This will get worse. The longer you stay, the harder it will be to ever go. Don't wake up 20 years from now realizing you've spent you're whole adult life being treated like a child.

Run. NOW. You just can't cut that level of apron strings.

I can tell you right now how it ends: you spend your life trying to please him, and you die as a sacrifice with him crying--bloody knife in hand--screaming "Momma!! are you happy now?! is he good enough for me now?!"

ummmm.. get out before you start getting regular beatings before bed...

When you look back 10 years from now...this will be the day you recall you should have left. :) Have a great future with your ball-less boyfriend. Oh, it's not a FML yet...wait until you say "I do" then write us back.

what century is this? dude get out! I dealt with similar inlaws. you will never ever be good enough for their son and you will always be seen as the third wheel.

May the vorce be with you while you're getting DI-VORCEd :P

Sounds like you both are living with his mother. Unless you are married and under 18, stand up to your husband and mother-in-law. If you don't, like all these people are saying, they will walk all over you and try to control you.
