MaYbe the star wars colletion was getting in the way of op having a life so she had to do the honorable thing by selling them off, or it could be that he kept them at his mum but she needed some cash then sold that either way fyl
Us geeks have lives. 'Normal' types just don't get it because we're not into... whatever the hell it is normal people do. Nightclubs?
Right, and going to a nightclub every night isn't a life either, it is balance that is having a life, social, personal, private, productive, non-productive, etc are all aspects of life in balance.
I've never heard of a constant partier be told to 'get a life'; they always get told they 'need to cut back a bit' or 'maybe tone it down a little?'. Collecting figurines etc. is seen as something you need to get rid of completely - i.e. 'getting a life' - even if you do have a productive balance of everything.
Yep, clubbing is a more accepted behavior in our society, so I don't imagine many people referring to too much partying as needing to get a life.
Sorry to hear that OP. I had an ex-GF who sold my collection of rare original star wars trading cards, worth thousands. When I asked her about them she claimed to have no idea, when I asked her son he replied she sold them to her cb'er friend so she could buy a carton of cigarettes...$8000 for a then $20 carton of smokes..I didn't cry but I was angry.
I gotta call BS on the trading card collection being worth thousands. You can buy any and all of the card sets on ebay. A complete set of mint topps will run around $500, OPC about the same. Even throwing in ADPAC, Wonderbread & Kellogs, you can purchase all of the MINT vintage card sets for under 2K. Biding your time and buying smartly, you can do it for under 1K.
It's a trap!
Help me, cBlackout! You're our only hope.
I would cry too, OP! Don't even feel ashamed. Star Wars anything is worth its weight in gold to a fan. (:
Dude, I would cry too.
46, still lives with mom. Mom always makes the best meals... Bro stop bitching you are set. I wish I stillblive with my mom...
Meh, kind of easy to assume he does. And for all we know he may of been out playing some D&D with some mates then came home to his basement and found out.
