Today, my parents came to visit me at the ranch I work at. They're scared to death of horses, but I was explaining how they are almost completely harmless. I was showing them how to work around the horse without getting kicked. As they relaxed, the horse kicked me. I now have a broken leg. FML

That sucks. Something similar happened to me once. I was in my playset, showing one of the neighborhood kids how safe and not scary it was up on the upper level and in the covered slide, when I got attacked by a hive of wasps who had made their home up there.

hey everyone, latkematzoball has a gigantic stick up his butt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! happy??

And this is why you NEVER stand directly behind a horse.. I'm going to assume you weren't and this horse was a good kicker LOL. in that case, FYL.

haha i like how the horse has a bandaid on her nose. lol. i am a huge horse person and it is fine if you stand directly behind them as long as you first start at their side then move to the back and keep a hand on them so they know you are there. horses have flight zones and the back is a blind zone so thats why you keep a hand on them (i am in equine studies thats how come i know this) lol

it is perfectly alrigth to stand behind a horse other wise how the hell are you goin to plait their tails if you plan on showing them hmm ???. I stand behind my horse all the time and he has kicked me but im not scared of him. I know people say that you should never stand behind a horse but if u actually think about it if you are goin to own, ride a horse your goin to have to go behind it at one stage. horses are very unpredictable and dangerous i know this from experiance so my simpathys. Horses can strike out with their front legs without warning just like they can kick without warning. if your going to work around horses you should know the risks that come with the territory.

My horse kicked me in the leg once, now i have no feeling in my lower left shin, he was trying to kick my other horse that i was riding tho because he was jealous.

c0w... you said to never stand behind a cow and I have to ask why you'd say that? Cows don't kick straight back, they kick to the side, so standing behind them would actually be safer than standing off center in the back. Have you ever even been around livestock?!

Ouch dude. I hope you feel better. I feel your pain, my foot got stepped on by a horse when I was 6.

haha same thing happened to me, except there was a horsefly and the horse started galloping, and i have never ridden a horse before

Ouch. I LOVE the illustration! Short and to the point, funny, and it doesn't try to tack on extra bullshit. Other illustrations need to take after yours.

It added a bee sting! That surely would piss some of the purists like you off, no? Completely changed the meaning! o noesss

My dad and step mom own a horse rescue and I am the only one aside from the dogs who has been kicked and it wasn't even by one of his horses it was at a horse auction when I bent down to inspect a horses hooves I got kicked by a pony that I didn't even see. From day one we were taught safety around the horses, like if you have to walk behind them always move sliding your hand down there back and keep your hand on them at all times so they know you are there, I have cleaned hooves, groomed horses and everything and none of them has ever kicked my family. Still some horses can be spooked easier then others and accidents happen, its what you do in the situation that determines how hurt you get. I think it sucks the OP got kicked and has a broken leg but I don't blame the horse because it's hard to know if it wasn't something the OP did that makes it their fault.
