Today, my parents told me about how they met. I'd already known they were eight years apart, but I never knew my dad started dating my mom when he was 21 and she was 13. FML

Today, I found out that when my mum had introduced me to her boyfriend, it was right before his birthday, so she'd rounded his age up. For two years I thought he was seven and a half years older than me, when really he's actually six and a half years older. FML

Today, my dad is getting married for the 4th time. First it was my mom, then as they got older, he married a woman 10 years his junior, then his third wife was my age and 28 years his junior. Now at the grand old age of 64, he is marrying a 22 year old, 42 years his junior, almost 2 decades younger than me. FML

Today, my dad told me he was planning to have his steady girlfriend over for dinner. He's only had a few relationships since he and my mom split up when I was very young, so I was excited to meet the woman. He then told me that I knew her already. My dad is dating my aunt on my mothers side. FML

Today, my dad casually mentioned my half-sister in conversation. He had her out of wedlock when he was only 13. NEWS TO ME, HE'S NEVER MENTIONED I HAVE A HALF-SISTER BEFORE AND I'M FREAKING 22 YEARS-OLD. Apparently he and mom thought I knew, and just forgot to tell me. FML

My boy friend was 23 and i was 16. He is now 25 and im 18. were still together. I think it has to do with maturity. Ive been grown since 15 and im just surprised your gram and pap let that happen

OMG, Idk what everyone is freaking out about. It wasn't until recent years that 18 became a legal standard. 8 yrs age difference has been going on for millenia. Chill! I agree with you too 88. No one knows the circumstances. Also, why is this even an FML. This man grew up with his parents. Why should what happened decades ago change his opinion of his parents. Wow, what is this world coming too?
