Well it sucks that they didn't do more on your birthday to celebrate. Are you all going to go out when your sibling is available instead? We do family celebrations in my family and events often get moved a few days to fit everyone's schedule better.

The absence of the sibling should not dictate the celebration of OP's birthday. The parents should have shown the same amount of compass to the OP as they did to the sibling.

If I were you, I would seriously consider leaving your house and move somewhere else. I can understand them thinking one child is smarter than another, but what they did there is just plain mean.
