Today, my pregnant girlfriend gave me back the ring I'd used to propose with a week ago. Her reason? She only said yes because she was worried the real father of the baby wasn't going to stick around. FML

She was actually nice in a way. She could have used you as an ATM for 18 years to support some other dude's kid, and she'd probably keep banging other guys as well. And you got the ring back! Get a paternity test, anyway. I was in an almost identical situation with my ex. She told me the baby wasn't mine, but it turned out not to be true. Now, I have a beautiful 18 month old daughter. The mother and I didn't work things out, obviously, but I couldn't imagine life without my daughter now.

I am a girl who told my ex fiancé that my baby isn't his. It is, of course, as I have been cheated on, and I wouldn't do that to someone I truly cared for, not to mention that we've been together for 3 years. But my reasoning is this: he told me that he could find better, and that he'd heard rumors of my cheating through family members that I have personally cut off, and that it wasn't his. Mind you, I've held his hand before and after two deployments, spent thousands on homecoming and care packages, and been there when even his family wasn't. So me lying is going to release him, because he doesn't want her, and it will give him a chance to move on without burdens. Just remember that.
