Today, my pregnant wife's parents called me at work, saying she'd been crying inconsolably and wouldn't say what was wrong. After pleading with my boss, I rushed home. Turns out there was an "ugly" sofa in a TV ad and she felt it was "picking on ugly sofas". FML

...before calling it "ugly" maybe she should think about the couch's feelings.

Hormones of pregnant women: A formidable source of FMLs since the beginning of FML!

She's creating another human. She gets a free pass

No she doesn't. 1. People create new humans everyday - it's not that special. 2. It was her choice to be pregnant, therefore it's up to her to behave appropriately.

Seriously? 1. People do a lot of things every day, should we not have any empathy or make accommodations for anyone because their issues aren't unique? 2. As "inappropriate" goes, this is pretty tame. If she's the one who has to bear the larger burden for a choice they presumably made together, she deserves some leeway for that. This is a consequence that anyone properly educated on pregnancy should be prepared for, she's not doing anything wrong.

Um being pregnant doesn't make develop autism or some such mental disability. I just had a baby, hormones are one thing but this is just dumb; sounds like a character issue.

Who shall shed a tear for the ugly sofa?

I been pregnant & I never cried over stuff like that..

Forget about the crisis in the Ukraine... THIS! THIS blatant bashing of ugly couches needs to stop!
