I know a lot of people always suggest taking their problems to court and people roll their eyes, but here, it's justified
That's what Small Claims Court is for. No lawyers, limited fees, but also limited recovery. However, if all you want is for them to pay the dental bill , then Small Claims should work fine. The friendship with your roommate will likely be ruined, but it looks like it already is since they won't step up and fix the damage they caused you. Best of luck, OP.
Sue the bastard.
Break his teeth and Call it even
His prank caused you to lose a tooth. One would think that he'd be apologetic and would offer to pay your dental bill. Since he won't, I would put pressure on him. If he still doesn't, I'd sue him. Friends or not, he injured you. He should be paying for it.
Small claims court. Not only should your inconsiderate roomie pay the cost of your dental bills but the cost of an implant--and those can cost between $2,000 and $3,000. If not, it's time to end this living situation.
He can refuse all he wants. That tactic won't work when you sue his ass.
Tell your roommate to own up to his pranks.

This is one of the cases I think suing is warranted. Creating a tripping hazard is not a prank. He's lucky it wasn't more serious.
A tooth for a tooth, prank her back OP
