Today, my stomach started to hurt. When I got home, my parents had company over, which I had to rush past to use the bathroom. After being in the bathroom for about 3 minutes, my mother yells to me from the other room, in front of the guests, "Are you OK in there?" I'm 27. FML

Although that is quite embarrassing, it seems she was well meaning since she is your mom and just wanted to make sure you're alright

It happens, I'm sure she was just concerned about you. Besides, those people probably could care less haha it's not that big of a deal.

Maybe you shouldn't be living with your parents then...

Why you didn't yell back noooo I need help!!!

Well I suppose if you don't know the guests then it shouldn't bother you and they would've ignored it as well.

I don't see this as an FMl. If you had to run to the bathroom she may have thought you were throwing up and wanted to make sure you were fine and didn't need anything.

Don't worry, OP :) I think that mom's have trouble not thinking of mom's. My mom was always quite protective of me and she still is even though I am 20. Legally allowed to do everything in my country, but she still frets if I don't phone enough when I'm out, among other things. I have no doubt she will be this way even when I am 30 but I try not to let it bother me and remind myself how lucky I am to have a caring mother.
