Today, my teacher was talking about anorexia and bulimia. Midway through the lesson, she stopped and knowingly asked if I wanted to share my experiences with the class. I don't have an eating disorder, just a screwed-up metabolism. FML

Today, my roommate confronted me about my eating disorder. She described in length how emaciated my chest has become and how she wants to help. Except I don't have an eating disorder. My sternum is deformed and I have only recently become confident enough to wear low-cut tops. FML

Today, my friend, knowing my mental health is really bad right now, decided to yell out the fact I have an eating disorder, and how she never sees me eat ever, then started to talk about self-harm and how she would never do it despite what she has gone through. All while side-eyeing me when talking to other people. FML

Today, I felt sick to my stomach, so I told my mother I didn't want to eat dinner. She started accusing me of being anorexic, so I ate a little bit anyway to make her stop. I then threw up, only for her to take it as confirmation that I have an eating disorder. FML

Today, I had a stomach virus, so I didn't eat anything. My new roommate asked me if I was anorexic so to prove I wasn't, I ate a sandwich in front of her. Only to go into the bathroom and throw it up later. She heard and now thinks I'm bulimic. FML

Today, I discovered that my daughter refuses to eat, but not because she's anorexic. Apparently, her health class has learned about the digestive system and now she refuses to "take part in something so gross." FML

Unusual cruelty

Today, I found out that my overweight daughter’s teacher starved her during a pizza party. She made her wait an hour until the entire class got a slice and their seconds. When it was her turn, there was only one tiny slice. According to her, she, “looks like she hasn’t missed a meal, she’ll be alright.” FML

Today, I have discovered that my daughter is struggling with anorexia. When I sat down to talk with her about it, she said it’s because, "all the other kids at school keep calling her fat." She was underweight before, and has now gone to being severely underweight. FML

Today, after I skipped dessert for the third day in a row, my mom cornered me and accused me of being anorexic. I'm actually not far off being clinically obese and I'm just trying to diet, but nothing I say will convince her. She wants me to see a psychiatrist about a disorder I don't even have. FML

I feel you I am a freshman in high school and I weigh 90 lbs. not only have a played sports my whole (at least one or two at a time) but I also eat more than my friends who play football. My point is metabolism can be f*cked up

I feel for you, I had similar I have a birthmark in my chest, when I exercise it turns purple red My swimming teacher pulled my up infront of my whole class and told me I should have more respect for my self and those "things" are disgusting, I prodded her a bit further before she blurted out that to have hickeys (love bites) I must be having sex at 14 and that's disgusting.. I agreed with her that it would be disgusting to be having sex so young and went to the principle who made her apologise and correct herself in front of the entire class she mocked me infront of She went so red, Lesson is... Revenge is sweeeettt lol

That teacher is disgusting. You'd better have reported her. That bitch needs her head knocking if she thinks it's acceptable to ask a kid about their personal experiences with mental illness, whether they actually had the illness or not. My friend was anorexic and bulimic and it nearly killed her and she got bullied like hell. Why would anybody ever want to relive that, on the spot, in front of a class? It makes me feel sick

I can relate to this. Not a day goes by that I don't hear a comment about my weight. Or to them, my bony-ness. Specially from my dad. I try not to let it get to me because I know I don't have an eating disorder but sometimes it just gets too much. Sorry that happened to you OP.
