Today, my teacher was talking about anorexia and bulimia. Midway through the lesson, she stopped and knowingly asked if I wanted to share my experiences with the class. I don't have an eating disorder, just a screwed-up metabolism. FML

Even though you don't have a disorder, that's horribly wrong of her to call you out on it in front of the whole class.

You're teacher is ignorant.. Wow. sorry OP !

I would have asked if she wants to share her experiences with the dentist about her new broken teeth...

Did you smile at her and say " unfortunately i have no experience but do enlighten the class with your experiences " that oughta shut her up for being ignorant.

that's ridiculous. even if you were that's not Okay for anyone to call it out or make it known

screwed up?? more like awesome

Oh, my best friend has the same thing. Teachers and other students talk to her about her "problem" all the time and she gets really upset about it. Hang in there OP, hopefully you have some good friends to cheer you up.

That's rude. Even if someone did have an eating disorder I'm sure they wouldn't want people blabbing about it to others.

Take that and double the amount of bullshit for me because my weight manages to to bounce between 75 and 85 pounds every month naturally. My school's nurse mistook a panic attack for my body going into shock over "lack of fuel", lectured me about my "eating disorder" in front of every one in her office, refused to let me go back to class until she witnessed me finish two bags of pretzels and a Gatorade, then sent me down to the school's psychologist who, apparently, thinks being an introvert means I'm depressed, contemplating suicide, and/or on drugs.
