Today, my twelve year-old son thought it would be a good idea to relentlessly shoot the mail truck with a paintball gun in front of all the neighbors. FML

Just so you know, everything has worked out fine. The mailman was pretty nice about it. He had to wash off the back of the truck, and pay a little money to help fix it.

If your son hasn't already been informed, maybe now would be a good time to let him know... On August 2, 1968, assault on a mail carrier became a federal crime in the United States. I hope your mailman has a sense of humor or your son could be in big trouble. We were all stupid kids once. Use this opportunity to help scare him smart! Good luck!!!

I had bb guns, paintball guns as a kid. And now as an adult I have real guns. Not once have I abused anybody, harassed or shot anybody with any of them. The 12yr old is an asshole. He should wash the mail truck himself and OP better discipline his brat.

He's 12, so at the time or was a good idea and a fun way to pass time. As the parent you should have lectured him on the responsible way to utilize a paintball gun, before giving it to him.

I was 11 when I got my first paintball gun, it was my parents choice because of how often I went, and the price of renting one. I was extremely responsible with it, never took it out unless I was going paint balling and they never had a single problem. OPS kid is just a dumbass.
