Today, my two boys decided to draw in permanent marker on the leather seats of the car I have had up for sale for 3 weeks with no interest. I call my husband to tell him we're going to have to keep it. He just made an appointment with a guy who has cash and is ready to buy it tomorrow. FML

You obviously don't know how to raise kids if they managed to vandalize on the car seats.

You Deserve this. A Car is no place for a child to play. You should of had the doors locked and the keys out of reach. Also assuming they used permanent marker they must be young. How did you not see them head outside with markers open the car and draw inside.

Goo-Gone. Takes permanent marker off any surface. I know because that's my JOB.

Try nail polish remover. When I was little, I drew on myself with permanent marker and my mom used nail polish remover to get it off and that worked.

Wow, You people talking about how YDI for being a bad mom/stupid kids/basically being jerks. Shut up. I have a 3 year old, I discipline her and she still acts up. Kids do things they shouldn't. It's a learning thing, they are going to do see what they can get away with. It's the parents job to deal with it.

Then you're doing it wrong. Some people think they're "disciplining" their kids when they say "oh, my sweet little darling, stop throwing this tantrum now" and the kid still does it and nothing happens... Ha! The next time they do something bad, don't take them with you to the place they wanted to go to. Or don't let them watch their favorite cartoon. Or take away the toy they like for some hours/days depending on what they did. Important: Explain to them why you are doing this, and how it's a consequence of their acts and their choices in breaking the rules. Explain that it will happen again and again each time they break the rules, and that it will escalate, like the toy will disappear for several days instead of just one or two. See how long the kid wants to act up... Kids are VERY intelligent. They know better than destroy the family property for no reason, if they're aware that punishment will come. Your kid is young, there's still hope. The parents job is NOT to let "their children see what they can get away with" like you say!! It's to teach them and guide them so that they mature into civilized human beings who will succeed at life and not into losers used to have it all easy all their life and who will eventually end up badly after being used to getting away with everything. Sheesh.

i call fake that sounds too convenient that or your husbans trying to get at you

You still have time to remove the marks, just head to the hardware store asap!

The issue isn't whether or not you can watch your kids 24/7. No parent can do that. Many wish they could but you just can not. The real issue is that in order for the OP's kids to get into the car she would have had to either leave it unlocked or locked it and left the keys where her kids could get to them. The first option is bad b/c someone could steal the radio, CD player, etc. The second option is worse because a car can be used as a deadly weapon and giving a small child access to not only a car but car keys endangers not only their lives but the lives of others. The OP should be thankful the FML isn't something like "Today my small children got my car keys, went outside and started the car, and ran over the neighbor's 3 year old son. The funeral is tomorrow.
