Today, my wife and I were driving to the gas station, she let me out before she pulled up to the pumps because I had to buy some things from the store. I returned to see my wife proudly filling the tank. Smiling, she told me that diesel was cheaper than regular gas. We don't own a diesel car. FML

Today, I was out with my youngest cousin and we had to stop for gas. Since he just got his license, I asked if he wanted to pump the gas while I went into the station to get snacks and pay. He pumped my car full of diesel. FML

Today, my wife put petrol in my diesel car and ruined the engine, I got a bit upset, but I wasn’t screaming or yelling or anything, but she flew completely off the handle at me at how I was putting all the blame on her and it wasn’t fair. I ended up apologising to her for her mistake. FML

Today, I spent £107 filling wife's car up with fuel. When I get home she says "don't forget we have to fill my car up at Tesco at the weekend". "I've already done it at Asda earlier" I say. "You stupid dumb idiot" she says, "I wanted it filled up at Tesco so I could get Clubcard points". FML

Today, I stopped at the gas station to fill up my tank and get some snacks. I paid the cashier, then got back into my car, totally forgetting to pump the $50 worth of fuel I'd just prepaid for. Too bad I didn't realize until my car came to a sputtering stop about a mile down the road. FML

Today, I let my brother borrow my car, as he had a job interview. I told him the tank was nearly empty and gave him $20 to put some petrol in it. Ten minutes later, he calls me, saying the car won't start. He filled it up with diesel. It's a petrol car. FML

Today, while getting gas, a hottie pulled-up to the pump next to me. I finished filling my tank and started to drive away. As I was checking her out and paying no attention to my driving, I ended up taking the front bumper off her car with my truck. FML

Today, I was at the gas station with my grandma. After I slid her card and began to pump, I convinced her that it was a lot easier and more convenient to pay at the pump with your credit card instead of paying inside. She yelled as I realized I went $20 over what she had to spend. FML

Today, my wife came home and said, "Before you go into the garage, let me tell you what happened…" She was stopped at a traffic light and when it turned green, she stepped on the gas, but the truck in front of her didn't. The grill was smashed and the car has a 3-inch hole in the bumper. FML

Here in America, we have much larger nozzles for diesel gas, so that people like your wife cannot put diesel in their cars. The nozzle will not fit into the tank. Only cars with diesel engines have holes large enough to stick the diesel nozzle in.

#75 You can actually safely mix some gas with diesel if I'm remembering right. As long as the majority of the tank was diesel, you shoulda been fine.

I'm in Canada and I drive a diesel car... I regularly drive to WA too. Diesel used to be cheaper but then last year, it rose up higher than gas. When the gas prices dropped, diesel dropped too and is now cheaper again. Here, the gas and diesel pumps seem to be the same size but I noticed in WA some diesel ones are too big for my car. I figured it's for the big trucks since those are usually along the highway or smaller towns but if I'm careful enough, I can still fill my tank even though the nozzle doesn't fit. Good thing you came out in time to see your wife filling it still or it would have been bad when you drove away!

Wow... how many of you D*****bags that are cappin' on his wife even know the difference between diesel and gasoline? How many of you just know you're not supposed to do that? How many of you treat your cars as if they were magic go-buggies that never get any maintenance? It sucks that it happened, it sucks that his wife didn't know she wasn't supposed to do that, but thankfully he caught her before the car was started. All it'll require is a drain and refill. Give the poor woman a break, ignorance is not stupidity.
