Today, on my way to Burger King I got into a heated discussion with my wife about our cats. We have 15 rescues, and I've reached my limit. Guess what came running up to my car while waiting in the drive-through. We named him Pickles. FML

Do you want fries with that? In all honesty, I like the idea of rescuing animals, but, you are right, there is a limit, especially if it is in your home. Hopefully you can reach a compromise! Until then, I hope you like Pickles :P

I get it! We've rescued ferrets since 2002. We've gotten too old & I had to put my foot down with hubby & tell him that we're on our last 2. They're very elderly & I'm not doing this anymore. At one point, we had 10 ferrets!

How is that even legal? I think they max it out at 2 cats per household here. Do you have a farm?

Some states have laws limiting the amount of pets you can own, you should look at those. Also make sure you don't have so many that you are endangering their health.

You do make sure they are truly rescue, right? Because otherwise you might e taking pets with owners. Just because they don't have a collar doesn't mean they aren't owned. I have had five cats that went out and came back with new collars. My da wot let us put collars on then because he is worried they will get caught on one of the many chain fences in the area. But they are all microchipped, loved and fat.

Use a break-away. They are still very sturdy, so I clip the stretchy loop to weaken it. If I have to replace ten a year, I replace ten a year, they're only a buck or two. Good on you for getting them chipped, but if the families that "adopted" your cat(s) move, you will LOSE your cats!

OP, your wife is what you call a cat person, but that doesnt mean you should let her get a whole bunch of cats like a grandma who lives alone would

I brought home a 3rd cat to "foster", and when I asked to keep him because he was so cute my husbands response wss "Ashley, all kittens are cute, even Hitler would find a black kitten named Goldstein cute!". We still have the cat though
