Hi guys! This is my FML. Basically whenever someone new meets my boyfriend or sees my brother they always comment how much they look alike. Recently every time I see my boyfriend from afar I think he's my brother so it freaks me out just a little bit. Glad to hear it's not really uncommon!

It's not that uncommon OP. I often get comments on how much my wife looks like my sister.

Apparently my ex boyfriend and I looked like brother and sister. So much so that a few times we got told we were gross for kissing our siblings in public. Was so weird :(
My husband's sister and I are really close, we hang out a couple times a week. Everyone always comments that we look like sisters.
Everyone thought my husband was my brother whole we were dating. It is extremely common.
Honestly, my boyfriend and I get mistaken for siblings sometimes and we don't even remotely look alike.
As long as you don't confuse the two of them in specific situations it should be ok IMHO. x)
I once had a boyfriend and EVERYONE thought we looked so much alike and constantly asked if we were siblings..
My husband and I are the same... People always assume we are siblings.
...whom looks like your father, probably...how Freudian
It's better than saying you and your boyfriend look alike. I get that a lot, they often mistake us for brother and sister.

I kind of feel you, OP. My dad and my boyfriend have many, MANY things in common. It makes me wonder if something's wrong with me.
I red this thing that people tend to be drawn towards others who share similar traits with the important people in their lives. For example, a girl might be drawn towards someone who resembles her dad or brother, because that's what's she's comfortable with. So, I guess it's not uncommon. :/
