i looked down and expected you to be from Virginia, since that's where Detroit is.
it's cute how everyone's defending the blonde girl, as if not knowing where Detroit is seems perfectly acceptable. how sad people. stupidity is so widely accepted now-a-days.
Since when does lack of knowledge necessarily equate with stupidity? If we're going with actual definitions of words...this FML only shows that she'd be ignorant, not stupid; ignorance has to do with a lack of knowledge, whereas stupidity concerns lack of cognitive ability. And it wouldn't even be complete ignorance. We only know that she's ignorant of the location of Detroit. Besides the facts that: she either lacks melatonin or has dyed her hair; is in Urban Politics; sat next to a guy from Wisconsin; and has managed to get a 92% on a test...we don't know anything else about her. It would be unwise to assume that she is stupid. Most people have something that they don't know which is supposed to be "general knowledge." I know I do (until this FML, the location of Detroit was one of them), and I'm sure you do. Unless you fancy yourself a know-it-all, in which case I would suggest that you take a closer look at yourself. "The more you know, the more you realize how much you don't know." ~David T. Freeman
Oh my God, I know what state Detroit is in and i live in ******* New Zealand!
I don't understand why everyone is assuming the girl is dumb, just because she's blonde. Talk about stereotyping! I'm blonde and I'm not dumb, though I'm not a genius either. The thing is, Geography might not be her strong point. She's obviously very good at Urban Politics, but she can't be good at everything, can she?
Are you people serious? Not knowing the location of a city does not indicate stupidity, regardless of where you live in relation to the city in question. You cannot possibly measure intelligence based on the knowledge or ignorance of ANY fact, no matter how important, commonly known, or relevant it is. Unless there's some sort of checklist that you must run through before being considered "smart." I imagine it would go something like this: 1. Vote for Democrats. 2. Puff out your chest and constantly remind others of their inferior intellect. 3. Know the location of Detroit.
I love how you added that she was blonde..

Like, wasn't it in Chicago or something?
