What? Any American with a basic knowledge of geography should know what state Detroit is in. Being remotely aware of current National events would clue someone into that, since it's in the news all the time.

Urban politics =/= geography. How is that an /implied/ stupid question, anyways? She may have never been taught- typically people do just say 'Detroit', and don't really mention the 'Michigan' bit, you know. Also, what does being blonde have to do with anything? She studied.
