Today, our midterm exams were returned in my urban politics class. I had studied hard and scored 86%. The blonde girl next to me got a 92. Earlier in the semester she had asked me what state Detroit was in. FML

Okay SERIOUSLY?!? I've been accused of sleeping with my teachers before because SOMEHOW blonde is connected, not only to dumb, but to *****. I don't get it! I'm #13 in my class of 5,000 and I'm blonde! Everyone assumes I'm whoreing around because I'm supposed to be dumb and ditsy, but nobody can accept the fact that HEY GUESS WHAT! Why mention she is blond? Does this have any bearing on the teat results? Maybe, since she studied for a test, she actually is capable of getting a great grade. You, on the other hand, are shallow enough base expectations on a glance; her looks and a single question. Maybe if you dropped the holier than thou additude and spent a little of that time doing somehing constructive, you'd not only have the test results you want... But! Even more importantly, you'd stop bitching about your decent grade while putting others down for their hard work.

Actually, if you are female, you are blonde. And a lot of blondes are very gifted, only not in scholastic matters.

That's funny. I have all A's in my 7 classes and I'm blonde. Just because someone is blonde, does not mean they are automatically stupid. That is a stereotype.

I think the OP meant that blond=hot and hot+stupid+ 92% = sleeping with the prof. And c'mon, Detroit is a major city, it's basic knowledge for an American college student to know where it is. I know it and I'm European.

Depending on your major, the geography of the US is completely irrelevant. I have not, nor will I ever in my 6 years of college have to take a geography class.

To be fair though, most people from places other than America are exposed to a lot of American TV so we learn the major cities and states that way. People from America are so likely to get it the other way around, especially from small places like NZ. I'm from NZ and I'm not sure I could tell you all the states in Australia either.
