Today, out of the goodness of my heart, I went to work to help out a co-worker even though my last day was last week. I parked in a garage a block away for 2 hours. I paid $20 to park, didn't get paid, am spending $400 to get my back window replaced, and I have to buy a new iPod. FML

Today, I searched for free parking near my work for 30 minutes, trying to avoid paying $12 at a pay lot. I scored a spot, but 1 mile away from the office. I trekked through rain, cold, and got to work late. It was a long hard day, crawled back to my car, and had a $30 ticket on my windshield. FML

Today, while leaving late for work, I walked out to my car only to find the back window broken. Worst part was, I still had to go to work because no one who could cover me showed up. FML

Today, I decided to cover a coworker's closing shift because she felt sick. My boss even gave me a $10 gift card for doing it. I felt good about it, until I walked outside and found that my car had been stolen. FML

Today, I gave my friend a ride to town so she wouldn't have to pay the $10 to park. While waiting to pick her up, I grabbed a bite to eat. Upon returning to my car, I found a $55 parking ticket on my windshield. FML

Today, at work, I helped out an employee who was having trouble. I even bought her a bottle of water. After the production manager decided to fire her on the spot, she went out in the parking lot and broke into several cars, including mine. FML

Today, I parked my car in a garage that cost $13 for every 10 minutes past 10 o'clock. When I came back to the garage at 10, I had forgotten where I parked it and spent an hour looking for it. I paid $78 to lose my car. FML

Today, I finally got my paycheck from working at my minimum wage job for the last three months. I was delighted when I saw it was worth $846. On my way to cash it, I destroyed my car's suspension. It's going to cost almost $800 to fix. FML

Today, despite being parked in my work's car park, my car got clamped. It cost me $150 to get the clamp removed and all I got was "bad luck" from my boss and the clamper. FML

Wait, did you have a towel window BEFORE or after the person stole your iPod from your car? Because that really makes a difference. First of all, I clicked YDI just because you said "Out of the goodness of my heart." It just annoys me when people say that, and do you think Mother Teresa ever once said that in her life? I seriously doubt it. Stop trying to get attention for nice things, do nice things because you want to help someone. Second, if you're not working there and you're covering someone's shift, you wouldn't get paid by the job, so you should've asked your ex-coworker for pay. Whether or not someone broke your window to get to your iPod, YDI for even leaving it visible.

You're not working, so you have no excuse for not using your time more wisely. How long does it take to lock an iPod in the glove box? And how long would it have taken to word this more clearly?!? You went to help a FORMER co-worker at your FORMER place of work... why do you make us ASSUME your ipod was stolen during this time?!?!?

I just spent only $200 to get my windshield replaced. It shouldn't be anywhere near $400 for the rear window. Are they really charging you $200 extra for the heating element?

FYL. I don't think you deserve it because you kept your iPod in your car where it was probably visible. While it was clearly not wise, and in retrospect, you probably would have done differently, I don't think you DESERVE to get jacked because of it. It was a mistake that hopefully you'll learn from.
