Today, the day before I was going to move in with my army fiancé, he was told he would be deployed very soon. I can't pay for the apartment without him, and now have to move back in with my parents until he returns from active duty. FML

when you're an "army wife," minor/major setbacks is what you will have to deal with. It wont be easy.

You should be more worried about your fiancé going to war than you moving back into your parents house. You selfish Bitch.

Lol....wait what? This is absurd. He must hate you.

He gets paid a basic allowance for housing-id be wondering why he won't give this to you for the family housing...

@178-both of my combat tours, our combat zone special pay was about $300. Don't speak on it if u don't know what u are talking about

You can either get married before he deploys so you can get the deployment money and off post housing money, or just get a shared bank account. His money is direct deposited so as long as you have access you're fine. He can also get you a power of attorney before he leaves. good luck to you and god bless to your fiancé! ~a fellow military wife

just because hes on deployment doesnt mean that he cant pay bill while overseas. esp something like an apartment. just have him set up a joint account with you, and he can deposit some of his pay into that to pay for any necessary expenses. its actually required of all DOD personnel to make preparations for their families before they deploy.

are you f'n your life cause he's goin to war or because you are selfish & have to live with your parents?

#7 - surely her life is impacted as well. Of course it goes with the territory when dating a soldier, but it's understandable that she's upset that their plans were spoiled; even though she always knew that the risk existed.
