Today, the grades for one of my courses were released. The class average was higher than that which the department allowed, so the professor had to scale everyone's marks down to meet the policy. I ended up failing because my class was too smart. FML

Are they even allowed to do that?

"My class was too smart" is a fancy way of saying "I was too stupid"

That is SO unfair! Soemthign should be done! Get some publicity from a local paper? Petition?

That teacher should have gotten an award or something.

Take it to the dean. Professors have a funny way of changing their minds when their boss gets involved.

Ugg smart ppl ruining curves!

It's called a bell curve.... this happened to me in highschool. Get over it

I don't think that is legal; couldn't that mess with people's overall GPA and stuff? Why is everyone assuming op is stupid?! Maybe they was having a hard time in the class & tried their best. I know everyone had a class at some point in their life that they struggled in and did everything they could do to get a good grade.

If you do VCE, in Vic Aus, that's how it always is. Deal with it.

Seriously? Come on you are all smart does that matter...what's really out there if that is an honors class...

How can grades be higher than the teachers allow?

This makes no sense. Wouldn't the professor be rewarded if majority of his class scored high marks, instead of having to scale it down?
