Today, the great deal on my new apartment has turned into a nightmare. I keep hearing extremely weird sounds almost every night, and when I tried taking pics of the place today, my camera's face recognition feature kept activating, but only in my bedroom. I'm scared shitless. FML

Today, my new neighbor informed me with great relish that the house I have just bought is haunted because 30 years ago a man shot himself in the kitchen. I'm now paying a huge mortgage on a house I'm frightened to be alone in. FML

Today, I live in a studio and I can hear really weird noises coming from my neighbours, my walls, my floor and even inside, without knowing what did fall/scratch/move. I seriously wonder if someone lives hidden in the walls. I don't know if I should call the cops, a psychiatrist or an exorcist. FML

Today, I went downstairs a little after midnight to grab a snack, and in the dark hallway, I clearly saw a small child walk into the kitchen. I was freaked out, but I followed him in. There was nobody in the room. I'm now too scared to sleep, and am seriously considering moving house. FML

Today, I was walking to the kitchen in the dark. Something caught my eye and I turned to see a man standing in the corner, clear as day. I jumped and closed my eyes for a split second. When I opened them, he was nowhere to be seen. I'm now terrified to live in my own home. FML

Today, the fire alarm keeps going off at my apartment. Not only is the noise ear-piercingly loud enough to wake the entire neighbourhood, there's also a big flashing red light in case the deafening sound isn't enough. This is my day off. It's going on all day. FML

Today, I finally managed to sleep, after two days of being kept awake by the miniature floodlights my neighbors have installed to scare off burglars. Only a couple of hours into my sleep, I woke up to the sound of their car being broken into. FML

From experience... Calm down. Just because you hear and feel something is there, does not always mean it's bad. Sit down, close your eyes, and just feel. Don't feel for what you *think* about ghosts. Just feel. Does it feel like this one is trying to harm you? Or is it just there? I ask because I had 3 different ones in a house a friend and I stayed in. One was a child. She always asked if we were ready to play dollies. The one in my room actually made me feel safe. I didn't like it rearranged my stuff, but I felt safe. However the one in the living room...I wanted to cry with that one. It only watched when my driend and i were out there at the same time. It glared. But god forbid you walk step past the kitchen...into the livingroom...and down the hallway. You couldn't get away fast enough. It felt like this thing was breathing down your neck and just snarling the whole way. I never thought anything could scare me more than my step father use to...and he put me in the ICU a few times...this made him seen like a Teddy bear. Sadly i had to run that livingroom and hall to get to my room. But all was ok when I was in my room. The guy in there was good. My heart was pounding only seconds before, and it felt like someone just put an arm around me and told me I was safe now. He would keep that thing away. I was kinda sad to move. I hated what ever chased me, but I felt I was loosing my best friend at the same time. When I came in to the room to grab my last box, he left something for me. On that box was the necklace that my real father gave me before he passed. The same necklace that was stolen from the purse in my car at his funeral. A lot of people think ghost and flip out. Trust me...just take it easy and try. Not everything is evil. Some ghosts really are a true Casper. Just give it a thought.

Wow. That is both a terrifying and touching story. I'm so sorry that you went through ALL of that (your father passing, your awful stepfather, and the living room spirit) but I'm happy that you were able to see some light at the end of it and seem 2 have maintained a positive outlook. I am in no way going to say this to be rude, but what you described sounds like some sort of severe case of psychosis, possibly even schizophrenia. Please go see a psychiatrist or neurologist. Ghosts don't exist, there's probably something wrong with your head, and you can get it treated. It's not anything to be embarrassed about. Just tell the doctors what you said here, and listen to what they'll tell you. Please do that.

@218 I wouldn't say ghosts don't exist. Don't be so skeptical about the supernatural. My family (including extended family) and friends have had some really strong experiences with ghosts in my house, and I highly doubt we're all suffering from some mental disease.
