Today, the people living below me have been blasting their music so loudly that I can hear every word as clear as day. The people next door think it's my music and feel the need to bang on the wall and blast their music just as loudly in revenge. I have two very important exams tomorrow. FML

Communication is key. Just simply go talk to both neighbors calmly.

Sound-cancelling headphones. Best investment you'll ever make.

Explain to the neighbors that it's not you playing the music and tell the others that you need to study and ask then to stop playing music. Problem solved.

Has no one gone down to ask them to stop? They don't know they are bothering you unless you inform them. Now, if you have asked them to stop, I suggest calling your landlord!

Right!!! My old neighbour used to call the cops on my dad for his drum playing (even though its electric so he'd use headphones) without even a word to us. It was so annoying.

That's not cool. HOWEVER, I had a situation once where my neighbors a few houses down were blaring music in the middle of the night, and I went over to ask them to stop. One of the girls was ****** up on crack, mistook me for someone else and started a fight with me and tried to beat me up. I had to call the cops after, and they told me never to confront people, and straight up just call in a noise complaint. I've been scared ever since and now I just call the cops :/

On both of your tests, write a long rambling essay about the awesome battle of the bands contest you attended against your will. Your teachers will think you are nuts and give you about a B+ to keep you from going on a shooting rampage against them. Now, that solves your problem!

If she's Asian, a B+ might just start the rampage...

Not unless they're math related exams!

Music is mathematical. I'm sure OP can mix it in some how ;)

Explain to next door it's not you, use evidence if needs be. Then form a posse and tell the ass hat's downstairs to at least tone it down. Strength in numbers my friend.

I congratulate you good sir. I'm from South Texas, yet have never seen/heard anyone use the word posse correctly until now.

I have, but i lived in college cities since i moved from CO in '09. I just moved from Austin TX to Corpus Christi TX, what part of the south are you in that THAT word gets misused?

Talking to each neighbor might help. Invite the upstairs neighbor into your home to show them it's not you, but rather the downstairs neighbor. Then maybe both of you can go together to politely speak to the culprit. If that doesn't work and you're in an apartment, talk to the landlord. Good luck! I hate when neighbors don't care about the other people around them.

This is exactly what I would do. Library's actually make it harder for me to focus plus a lot of the time it cost money to use the computers/printers and who knows how close to the nearest library is or isn't.

Was the music at least decent :P? Green Day or something :)? If it was One Direction or Justin Bieber id just jump out your apartment and save my ears the torture :L

Wait... since when is green day considered decent music?

Green Day has always been great music! I'll get buried, but it's the truth!

I live in an apartment and my upstairs neighbours are SO ingnorant. Blasting music at 6 am although we have a no noise policy before 9am, they also slam doors and their dog barks non stop.

I do not see why you are getting thumbed down. I think your correction is correct.

They could ALSO be ignorant...ignorant of social norms and common courtesy, that is.
