headinabag33 tells us more.
Hey...OP here. So in this theatre there are two curtains. The second one (more up stage, away from the audience) has been broken. So we just open both curtains, since the second one never opens. We perform in front of it and it's no big deal. We get some great lighting off it really, and once we had someone stand back there and shake it and looked cool. Someone fixed the second curtain without telling us. The actors were having sex behind the "broken" curtain and it opened. No one told them to stop because they were quiet, and no one wants to tell people to quit having sex... So anyway, there it is.

I seriously pray to god it wasn't a children's play
Well, I did theatre for a while, and I did have some interesting things happen (the guys playing strip poker backstage tops the list), but that's a new one. I am truly sorry, OP.
Was it a play version of Game of Thrones

I guess they weren't in the first scene? That is really bad luck, OP. What ended up happening? Did the play still happen or did everyone leave after that?
Why were they comfortable having sex there in the first place? You'd think they would be afraid of getting fired or arrested for indecent exposure.
94- Well their probably not comgtorable doing it there but the adrenaline starts punpibg and its just always better when you do it dangerously
What was the opening act actually?
I understand mate, we had a couch back behind our psychlo screen that was often jokingly referred to as the "sex couch"... until a couple of teenage stage hands were found having sex on it, in the middle of a production. Not quite as bad as getting caught on-stage... but the booth can't be held accountable for the Stage Manager not doing their job. Hell even the Prop Master or Costume Director could have at least moved them off stage.
"No one wants to tell people to quit having sex," heh heh. I think this amused me more than the actual FML.
You mean, besides her? ;)
And there wasn't a single person in the wings?
Come to think of it, what are the logistics here, exactly? Why were they behind what was functionally expected to serve as the backdrop when the curtains were supposed to open? Were they supposed to come out through the backdrop? And where the heck was the stage manager?
"Nobody wants to tell people to quit having sex" it's the stage manager's job to make sure that the stage is ready for the performance. I don't give a shit if it's awkward to tell people to stop, but someone has to. If the stage manager didn't do it, you or someone else should have. ******* on the stage is not appropriate or professional behavior. That being said, the maintenance people or whoever fixed the curtain should have told you guys. This sounds like a big mess all around. Sorry, OP. I hope the other shows go better!
I think the logistics were that there are two curtains. One curtain didn't open when they tried opening it, because it was broken, so they just "opened" them both at the same time because it didn't matter because that one wouldn't open. The actors were behind that curtain. However, somebody fixed that curtain and they didn't know so when they opened the curtains it opened aswell and caught everybody off guard
I think that's the point.
:c I think I read 115 wrong actually. Thought they were trying to figure out how it was set up. Sorry, ignore my comment up there >_< was kinda late by my standards lol
For some people, the whole "we could get caught" mentality makes it better……biggest sex organ is your mind, so remember that :P
Well after reading that honestly it's your own fault then, since you Didn't tell them to stop and you Knew they were doing it. It sucks for your play but it's your own fault.
They never said they knew they were having sex. I think they were just as surprised as everyone else.
Well they probably won't get jobs anymore , it's really sad that they couldn't be decent for opening night and at least **** backstage . Sorry OP . Well
"So, what was your last role?" "The ****** Diaries." "Oh. I didn't know that was playing." "It isn't."
Sounds like a good play to me.
I hope it wasn't a family oriented play, because now it's definitely an adult play.
Great acting! Solid 5/7
