Today, the power went out at school. If it's out for more than twenty minutes, standard procedure is to let us go home. They came back on almost nineteen minutes later. FML

Today, the power went out at school. As a senior, I don't show up until third period. When I got there, I signed in as usual. The office secretary waited until I signed in to tell me that if I hadn't, I wouldn't have to attend classes that day. Now I have to sit in class doing nothing. FML

Today, there was a power outage at my apartment. I ended up deciding that the power wasn't going to come on any time soon, and that I should go to a hotel for the night. Just after I unpacked at the hotel, my neighbor called to say the power had come back. FML

I don't have the power to feel sorry for you, but the audacity of your bad luck is shocking. I guess your teachers were as in the dark as to what would happen as you were. I'm sure a bulb went off in their heads when they realized how nice it would be to take the day off, but unfortunately the problem was fixed at the last second. Oh well, I'm sure towards the end it was an enlightening experience.

Why are you complaining? It's school. Your life right now is about learning and training your mind. For the rest of your life after school you won't have many opportunities for that unless you seek them out for yourself, on your own time. Be grateful and happy that you actually get to sit and enjoy class, instead of having to drop out to work full-time. You get to wake up and go to a school, where you learn and think and socialize. There's nothing wrong with that.
