Today, the power went out at school. If it's out for more than twenty minutes, standard procedure is to let us go home. They came back on almost nineteen minutes later. FML

The only thing I found fault with is their use of "they" refering to the power. Unless they actually meant the electrons that flow, I believe were referring to the lights, but didn't mention them specifically. Needless to say though it was just a simple mistake, which, believe it or not, we all make sometimes.

This happens in college a lot. with teachers not showing up for 15 minutes there is no class. A lot of times they will show up after 13-14 minutes

There is a good chance they still wouldn't let them go even after 20 minutes. At the high school I went to we were supposed to get out if the power was out more than an hour or so, it went out one day at 9:30 and came back on around 3:00, they wouldn't let us leave because appearantly the power company kept saying it would be back in about 30 minutes.

That would be considered ditching and the OP would get into trouble, if they get caught that is. Depending on the school's policies and procedures the OP could get detention or possibly a suspension.

For real. I had all if my credits taken care of before my senior year in highschool started, and he bastards refused my early graduation request due to "lack of purpose of early grad" So... I did all the shit they wanted and still had to go to y senior year cuz there was no 'reason' for me to graduate early.
