Today, three women came into my work and one was wearing a shirt with a rainbow that said, "We are everywhere". I had just gotten what it was referring to and when I greeted them I ended up saying "Hi gays!" instead of the standard "Hi guys". FML

You wear a shirt that says that, you can't be offended by "Hey, gays!". It's a little funny. A little. :)

I live in SoCal - we refer to everyone here as "you guys". Just like in the south more than one person is "y'all". Guys doesn't always mean "male".

lol they probably weren't offended, they didn't really have a reason to be. but on another note, to an extent I kind of have to agree with #35. You don't have to be gay to experience all of those things. Just different period; different sexuality, different skin color, different religious beliefs, etc. While I don't have a problem with gay pride, it's not fair to say that others don't have to deal with inequality just because they're not homosexual.

Yeah, and? Were they offended? I would assume with a shirt like that they could laugh it off.

I think your life is f'ed iff something bad happened as a result. A slip of the tongue is just a slip of the tongue, unless someone took offense to it, causing a scene. Or if your boss overheard you and took some form of disciplinary action. Still, funny story nonetheless.

Whoops! Hope they were good-natured about it. I would be. :)

@ #32 - yeah, except you do. you can get married, nobody really calls anyone a fag seriously anymore, that's so old. you can't get fired, you idiot. if you're fired, it's for another reason, and not for your sexuality. get your facts straight.

Actually in many states you can still be fired for being gay. Also most states you can't marry if you're gay there are only a few that have allowed gays to marry so far, and there are states like Cali, and parts of NY, that allowed gay marriage and then took the right away again. So discrimination against non-heterosexuals is pretty intense.

excuse me, have you ever been gay? so how would you know? i know many people who've been harassed for their sexuality, including myself. just because its against the law to discriminate and fire someone because of sexuality or race or whatever, does not mean it still doesnt happen. grow up. the world isnt perfect

PROBABLY NOT TRUE. and for that reason, FYL. "Hey gays!" seriously? if it is true, you should probably find a new job where you treat people with respect when you greet them.

#7: really? im a girl. my friends and i say "dude" or "hey guys" and i go to an all girls school. lighten up. its just talking.

You should've just covered it up by pretending to have a funny accent. It's the only logical solution.

Actually, #10. For a gay person's preferance in the same sex, people think of it as a choice. It certainly isn't a choice, it's how they live. Most people are fine with colored races because they know it's not a choice, and it doesn't differ them from other people. When it comes to gays, however, people treat it as a poor decision, and find it disgusting and immoral. It's really digusting how they think it's digusting.
