Today, to settle a bet with a friend, I took an online IQ test twice. The first time, I chose answers at random without reading the questions. The second time, I took it for real. I got a higher score from the random selections than from my serious attempt. FML

Those online tests usually aren't too accurate, so don't dwell on it OP

But the question is, what was your score?

I'm a psychologist and regularly administer actual IQ tests. The online IQ "tests" are just for fun and are not valid assessments of intellectual functioning by any stretch of the imagination. Just laugh it off.

Agreed, but on that note, I feel like maybe taking an online IQ test so seriously in itself might be a sign of one's intelligence...

Online IQ tests usually show much higher scores than a real IQ test! Not accurate at all!

Should have secretly unplugged the computer before your friend saw

Unless you paid money for the test, the results are most likely inaccurate anyways. Don't take the results too seriously OP!

Those IQ tests are not accurate half the time. Don't focus on it too much.

Those aren't really accurate, don't sweat it

Most of those tests actually give you a score randomly
