Today, was my 16th birthday and I was supposed to be surprised with a new car. I have overheard my parents talking about bringing it home tonight while I was at a friend's house. We snuck back to my house to see them bring my car home. All I saw was my Dad crash my new car into a street lamp. FML

Today, my parents said that they bought me a car. I had been begging for one for a year and they always said that I would have to pay for it myself. I got really excited and went to the garage to see my new ride. It was a Hot Wheels car with a note saying, "Save your money". FML

#9 Yes. OMG tense shifts. Perhaps (hopefully) not a native speaker? OP, I certainly do hope that you are more grateful at the thought of actually getting your own car than you are mad that your dad dented the fender. agreed with #24...you're kind of a bitch. i worked & bought my own car when i was 16. my parents said they were never going to buy me a car so instead of being a brat i saved & bought my own. so really not an fml...stop being ungrateful.
