Today, was my 16th birthday and I was supposed to be surprised with a new car. I have overheard my parents talking about bringing it home tonight while I was at a friend's house. We snuck back to my house to see them bring my car home. All I saw was my Dad crash my new car into a street lamp. FML

not really a fml you have parents who would buy you a car for your birthday and i really doubt they wouldn't spend the money to fix it up for you

What your dad probably should have done was just park it in the garage or driveway, rather than drive it into a street lamp. Now it's all banged up...

omg that so sucks!!!! i'm 15 and next year when i turn 16 my parents are getting me a car :D. ik i'm not gonna be able to use it much since the connecticute law is that u have to go through like almost a year of driving school....but w/e! i can't wait!!!! (i'm getting a porsh! :DDDD) i hope my dad doesn't crash mine lol. but yea...that rly sucks. hope he pays to fix it lol

Okay you guys are really stupid, just because the Op said NEW car doesn't mean it's new just that it's new to her. And so the **** what if her 'rents have the money to buy her a car, if someone bought y'all a gift and then broke it y'all would still be pissed so, stfu. And how is she a bitch? So what it's her birthday. And her dad probably wasn't even hurt, because I don't think someone would be so callous as to post this FML with their father in the hospital. Happy LATE birthday:)

Buy your own damn car, like most people do. Not everyone has parents that will actually buy us a car for our sixteenth birthday. And like #55 said, you should NOT expect something like a car for anything. Be glad your parents actually got you one; you can still drive it, even if it's not perfectly shiny and new.
