Wow, even if you're a tourist you have to have noticed that San Francisco is one of the most diverse cities in the world - in the WORLD. With a population shy of 1,000,000, minorities make up around half of the population - and most of them can speak perfect English. I do believe that what the op did is not only ignorant, but racist.
