Today, while at work being a waitress, this lady came in and requested to sit in the section I was waitressing. She held up a $100 bill and told me that if I was attentive to her needs, she would leave me a $100 tip. Excited, I waited on her hand and foot. She dined and dashed. FML

This is OP. I would just like to say that, it wasn't the fact that I didn't get the tip that she promised that made me sad. It was the fact that, I had the cost of her meal, deducted from my cheque that made me sad..

And that's how you can get better service at a restaurant/fast-food.

It's funny how tipping is now. It use to be you tipped before you even got seated to ensure you got a good seat and service.

And you honestly believe any fool would give a hundred dollar tip ESPECIALLY these days?! That only happens in movies!! YDI

It's not very common. There was this one waitress that was given a check with a lot of money by and old couple. Since you say it only happens in the movies makes you very ignorant...

65- just because you only eat at dinners and chain restaurants doesn't mean that there aren't high class restaurants. If you spend $500 on dinner $100 is 20%. That is the expected tip for good service now.

Next offer like that, have 'em give U the C note to hold as a "deposit."

YDI for not treating all your customers the same way!

I wish we can treat our customers the same way (work at taco bell), brutal. that we are people, we give you your damn food, don't do stupid inconsiderate shit to us for your own personal gain/glory/enteratinment etc. stupid customers...

That was really mean of her! I'd be pissed too!! Hopefully there was a surveillance camera that caught her stealing the food. Then throw her in jail, then you could go visit her and taunt her with bail money and just walk away without helping! Give her a taste of your own medicine.

Wait sooo, she dinned and dashes regardless of the fact tht u were attentative to her needs, sooo howd she get away if u were there the whole time!!!

I doubt that OP only had one table to serve. If you have multiple tables you have to take, then serve food. Fill and refill drinks. Check back on other tables. Plus I don't think any customer likes it when the waiter hovers at the end of the table so she had to give her some space.

I hope you rushed over and held the door open for her on the way out.

I think you should give everyone the same service regardless of the tip. And it's your responsibility to make sure they pay before they leave.
